Q: I heard that this soup is usually recommended to patients that have a weight or high cholesterol problem, a week before they have surgery?

A: I've heard of several "soup" diets before. They work only because of the amount of water in the soup makes people feel full and soup usually doesn't have the horrific amounts of fat and does have lots of vegetables. Still if you eat 4000 cal.

And does adding chickpeas make it fatty?

Diets like that hardly ever work. Focus on exercise and maintaining a healthy diet, y'know, food pyramid.

I want to start eating 3 cans of no sodium soup a day plus some pretzels.
